This is a great pet store in my opinion... they are the only place around Lansing that carries marine fish, corals, invertes etc... they have a huge selection of freshwater tropical fish... lots of african cichlids.. I would like to see more CA/SA cichlids but I understand that they get too big for most people... they carry tanks of every dimension.. and everything that you need in your tank.. filters.. lights.. heater.. driftwood.. slate... frozen foods.. bulk foods.. pond supplies... if you want it they prolly got it...
they also have kittens seasonally... ferrets... rats.. mice... guinea pigs... hedgehogs... Chinchillas.... they have a huge area dedicated to birds and bird cages.. they keep one parrot "Poncho" in the marine aquarium section cause he has a bad mouth on him and will prolly swear at you when you walk by... and don't forget to go to the back where they keep all of the reptiles/amphibians and all other creepy crawlies...
they are the only real game in town.. so they are pricier then your franchise stores ie petco/petland.. but they have lots of knowledge and only sell healthy fish that are eating well...
wow they shoulda paid me for this...

I got my first motoro there.
It is a very interesting store.
They carry a lot of add-ball dry goods as well.
Rick (the owner/manager ?) has been very helpful. I bought a discus there once and he gave me a cooler to take it home in.

A great store with lots of high-quality fish, especially saltwater. Hopefully I'll get back there sometime soon when I have more money -- they are a bit pricey.

They have the bonus of also being MAC (i think thats the acronym) certified so they know their marine fish are caught cyanide free and handle properly and timely between the known capture location and the store. Adds money to everything to do it right but i'd be game for it. I've never recieved bad advice or lost a fish from there to anything other than old age. I've yet to find a store with that much experience and talent on staff as well as being a store where i've seen them tell people no you can't buy that fish for your tank its too small and refuse a sale. Takes a lot for most retailers to loose a sale of their own free will...been to a few store in the Grand Rapids area that would sell you an oscar for a six gallon if you wanted then would fight you on the warranty.
Jason
PS i try to get there at least every couple months and for me thats 175mile drive one way.
