are these legal in any state? i would love to have a few or even just one in a pond

Lates niloticus is legal in North Carolina

Have to question why you would want one. This is not an easy animal to house.

Not a problem if you have a massive tank. Something around 1000 gallons should do the trick.

i have a pond that is roghly 120' x 80'

and a lake but thats out of the question

The pond would be great provided that you live in a tropical climate or that it's heated.
