Scientific Name:
Exodon paradoxus

Common Name:
Exodon tetra
Bucktooth Tetra

Taxonomy:
Family: Characidae
Order: Characins
Class: Actinopterygii

Maximum Size: Up to 6"

Aquarist Cautions:
NONE

Requirements for Freshwater Aquaria:
Temp: 22-28°C / 72-82°F
PH: 6.0-7.5
Minimum of 10 fish per tank perfered, 15+ better
minimum tank size **suggested** for 10 fish 40g long (4ft tank)

Food chain:
Carnivor

These fish will become aggressive with eachother and kill eachother
if not fed properly and givin enough room to swim, and enough tankmates to break up aggrression.
not recomended for your typical "community" tank
these fish will eat the scales and eyes of other fish.. they should
be kept in a species only aquarium with a 10 fish minimum

food to be offered:
Pellets
frozen or freeze dried Krill
beef heart
shrimp
smelt
worms
flakes
rosy red feeders (not to often)

Exodons have been breed in aquaria but very little is known about the
circumstances surrounding breeding this species. Word is doing daily
water changes and suppling with minnors, they will scatter there eggs
and then after the eggs are removed from the parents, eggs then hatch
in 24-48.

Exodons should be sexually mature at 3 years
