Bluegills Is selling tank raised bluegill younglings illegal?

I was wondering if selling tank raised bluegill younglings is a illegal in the state of COLORADO? If anyone has any information on this I would be happy to hear it. Thanks.

Colorado's laws are pretty vague and hard to interpret due to different laws from two different Government agencies covering the same topics. One will say one thing and the other will contradict it.

But As far as I can tell from the regulations the answer is no. You can however give them to another in the state as long as you both have a valid fishing license. Each fish in your possession counts to your limit of 20 sunfish for as long as you have them in possession.

So, technically if you have 20 sunfish at home and decide to go fishing and catch one...........you are over the limit? Interesting. The state is basically putting a cap on how many you can own. What if you breed them?

Yep if you have 20 at home alive then you can not keep anymore if you go fishing. You must have a valid license to keep any defined game fish.

If you breed them???? well that would fall under aquaculture and in that case you would need the correct licenses and permits for doing that.
