anyone know the best way to treat a ninfection on the barbs on the mouth of an arowana? ive tried using melafix but so far its gotten worste

How dows it look like ?

Pristine water (don't be shy off changing up to 90 % of the tankwater, gotta be temperated & conditioned for sure) with elevated temperatures worked best for me in such cases.
I'd stay away from every med when you're not sure that it's the right stuff for your case, if it's not the fish would be stressed even more while he has to fight the illness ;).
