Hello everyone My name is Brian and I was a member on this site about 4 years ago. I went away to college and had to take all my tanks down but now I'm graduated and setting up my first tank in a while. The site looks a lot different since the last time I was here, hopefully its still full of knowledgeable and fun memebers
. I just put new sand in my tank which will be the future home of a motoro ray hopefully. I look forward to talking to you guys

Hi Brian & welcome back
it's a bit slow like nearly every other forum is at the moment, but visitors increasing so it could be worse. Btw was your account-name "rvvrays" (or similar) in the past or am I mistaken ? I remember content & avatars, not names
. Cool that some of the very first members are coming back
.
Being an aquarist is quite an addiction; once you're in you're in
.
greets
Peter

Nope my name has always been Brian. Trust me i know how addicting the hobby is, i got a marine biology degree just so i can hopefully work at a public aquarium and have my own jumbo tanks to populate haha. Plus ive already changed my mind about what i want in the tank im setting up now about 10 different times since ive been going back over the site and seeing all my favorite oddball fish. Its driving me nuts haha

hi Judy. welcome to Aquatic Predators. i personally don't know much about aquatic plants, i've purchased a few and killed them all eventually.. lol.
i know that it's harder to kill java moss and java fern than most other aquatic plants (took me longer to kill them than the others).
there are a number of brightly colored, small for life, schooling fish for sale at almost any LFS (Local Fish Store). Mollies, Guppies, Swordtails, neon tetras, there are actually all kinds of tetras many variations of colors and fin shape and even diet. go to your LFS, look at the fish, get the scientific names and do some serious research before you buy.
you should also, before you do anything at all. Research the proper way to do a fishless cycle on a new tank. you should never put fish into a tank that isn't fully cycled.
