Ok, I've been doing fresh water for over a year now and I've been constantly ogling and just in general being in wonder at the sight of a well done SW tank from the start. I was thinking I'd start out with a 55 gl. tank and I have some questions on filtration. My LFS has 10 20 gl. tanks hooked up to a 55 gl. sump and from what I can tell the sump is the sole filtration for about 200 gls. of water. All I can say is that their tanks look beautiful and I've never seen even on spec of grime aside from some bubble algae. My question is would it be acceptable to only use like a 10 or 20 gl. sump for a 55 gl. tank? If not what recommendations would you have for filtration?

Oh, and before I forget, any suggestions on what kind of set up would be easiest for someone just beginning to start into SW? Like should i do a reef setup or what, and what would be some good beginner SW fish?
