Hi All,

I need some advice on one of my spotted gars around 30 -35cm.
He has not eaten anything for over 4 weeks now and seems to be showing signs of abdominal swelling, My other gar is fine and eating normally.

I have tried salt and increase in temp to no avail, I even tried a half recommended dose of Parasite Clear tank buddies 2 days ago but still no sign of improvement.

Ph is 7.0
Ammonia is 0.0
Nitrite is 0.0
Nitrate is 20-30
Temp is 28

Is there anything else I can try to help him clear the parasites if that is whats wrong with him ??

He was normally fed prawns , white bait and pellets

Regards

Peter

Can you get a photo of the fish? This would help out much in figuring what the issue is.
It does not to me sound like a Parasite issue but rather a blockage. Gars sometimes have this issue.
