Fast reference guide hope its useful
generally 1 watt of light per gallon or less is low to very low light levels
1 watt to 1.5 watts is low light level
1.5 to 2 watts low to medium light levels
2 to 2.5 watts medium to high light levels
2.5 to 3 watts high to very high light levels
3 to 3.5+ extremely high light levels

Thanks for that Chart. Now I won't have to ask what plants I can have and what I can't.
Saltwater Tanks:
45 gal. - 2 Percula Clowns, 1 Yellow Tailed Blue Damsels
Freshwater Tanks:
10 gal. - 1 Spotted Cory, 2 Common Plecos, 4 Striped Danios
Empty Tanks:
20,10,10

Nice chart.. but what are the watts per gallon that make something low or medium... difference with PC or fouresent.... I have 110w of PC on my 90 what section do I fall in..
I'm a fishgeek to non-fishgeeks....

110 watts of PC lighting is worth more than 110 watts of flourescent. The difference is minor, so you're still getting just over 1 watt per gallon, which is considered very low, limiting you to only certain plants. The minimum you should try for is 2wpg... IF you have the money wink.gif
