Exotic SuperPet
824 Silver Lane
East Hartford, CT 06118
phone 860-569-0200, fax 860-568-3387

Map.

Relatively large store with a large selection of fish, birds, reptiles, small animals, and dry goods.

Fish-
Decent selection of CA, SA, African cichlids.
Oddballs like arowanas (black, silver, jardini), lungfish, gars, e-cats, knives, etc.
Your average salt selection, mostly just fish though....no corals. (salt fish are usually not that great, a lot of unhealthy/dying fish....I would suggest finding an alternate store for S/W)
Decent selection of fancy plecos and other catfish- TSNxRTC hybrids, pictus, giraffe cats, etc.
Bread and butter fish

Birds-
Finches off all types (Zebras all the way up to Gouldian)
A few different types of Cockatoos.
A few different types of Macaws.
Various lovebirds, doves, etc.

Small animals-
Rabbits, gerbils, degu, prarie dogs, hedgehogs, chinchillas, rats, mice, hamsters, etc.

Reptiles-
Bearded dragons (very small and plain colors, very overpriced....if you are in the area contact me instead)
Iguanas (large and small)
Water dragons
Various geckos
About a dozen different types of snakes, nothing real exotic but a decent selection of the common stuff.
Misc other lizards.

Staff can be anywhere between newb and expert, be careful taking advice from them.

Dry goods- Good size selection of tanks, filters, decorations, books, etc. Large selection of foods and supplies for cats, dogs, birds, herps, fish, small animals, etc.

I'd like to add that they breed and hand raise their large birds onsite. If you are interested in purchasing a large bird (Macaw, Cockatoo, etc.) then they are generally very healthy and very well socialized. Smaller birds like Cockatiels can be kept too many to a cage and may suffer from feather picking.

The herp section could be better. I've noticed lots of improper substrate and mouth rot.

Did they change mgtmt? Not many oddballs. Inquired on Jars and they stated they could get them as special order. Didn't seem like they were interested in keeping oddball fishes. Big store though

Btw, would like to add an update to this store. Did shop there frequently in the past but am not now due to problems with them. Their Beardie stock has improved, they started carrying my dragons, but they aren't properly cared for so I would advise against buying them there. I am not going to sell to them any more pending a drastic turnaround in their procedures and communications wtih me. I had sold a bunch of Beardies to them only to find that they were being incorrectly housed with none of the essentials that they needed such as a heat lamp and UVA/UVB lighting, they were being kept at the room temp of 80 with no basking spot. I emailed the manager that I had dealt with about it and was basically told I was incorrect and that I had not seen what I had seen. He supposedly was going to double check everything and fix any problems. I tried to check in on them a few days later but go there a few minutes after close, will check in later and post updates as needed.
