I've only been to this store once, but the guy that helped me seemed very knowledgeable, and moreover was incredibly nice and helpful. I explained that I was in town for a while and had over an hour drive back home, so he offered to pack my fish in pure oxygen and gave me a styrofoam box to put them in.
If fish are sick, they turn the lights out and usually won't sell anything from those tanks. When I was there, I wanted 2 G. brasiliensis from a tank with the lights out, and the guy told me they recently had a shipment come in and some of the fish had a bad case of ich. He warned me that the other fish didn't seem infected, but they wanted to finish treatment before selling anything. He only sold me the brasiliensis because of my situation of living out of town and my willingness to quarunteen and finish treatment myself.
If you live in the area, this is definitely a place to check out. They had a very nice selection of CA/SA cichlids, African cichlids, not so common community fish and rare/exotic plecs. I only barely checked out the saltwater side, and can't remember much about it. They also have several display tanks setup, one had a bunch of live plants and rainbows and were set up next to a couple couches and a wide selection of books that you can read for information about particular fish.
