wide variety of community fish with lots of africans descent s/a and c/a cichlids . definately a place to go for arro's rays and rare knives. lots of koi . huge ammount of dry goods for fish birds reptiles dogs and cats. not a place to buy tanks or filters as prices r high but definately alot of good priced fish. wide vvariety of predatory fish from wolfish and datnoids to mbu puffers. there moving to a larger store in 2 weeks so most tanks r down and sold while they almost double there ammount of tanks in there new store. same plaza and phone number. they also carry giant gourami quite often which is something i dotn see quite often. owner is a discuss breeder and very knowledgable man. his son (around 30) works as the dept manager and is a very nice guy often gives me free feeders and calls when ever something cool comes in (like last week a large dat came in that was 16inches he knew i couldnt agfford it but still wanted me to come down and have a look at taht badass eat a low grade koi...)

i took abvantage of the moving sale and bought 3 30 galons with lids lights filters and heaters (inc gravel) for 50 dollars

all large show tanks r sold leaving a couple 55's for sale still

avg store with service from high nebiie who will sell u rare lungfish as a kuhli loach to experts who can be asked a number of complicated questions and spit out answers without hesitation. fri-sun r days i reccomend for ppl to go since most larger fish r shipped there fri morning(10am)

allways has sales opn something wether it b buy one get on free melafix or a brazilian rainbow boa for 175dollars....

Went there recently, looks like they had more predatory fish at old location. The concentration seems to be african cichlids and community fish. As for the Dat, was it the silver or tiger? I had inquired about ordering one earlier in the year but met w/neg results. Furthermore, I was told that Datnoids were only brackish...................... dry.gif

They have Rays now? Jeeze at the condition their fish were in at the old location I'd hate to see what happened to them. If they did live, I'd hate to see what they're charging for them in a retail location where they're hard to come by.
Juntau
Rays are $99, they seem pretty healthy.
Nick
they have retics for 49.99 but small (3-5in disc) and small tails

motorros for 99-150 depending on size

tanks r gettin better maintenance now .... there usually in the estes black sand tank

lots of 7-15 in preds in the 250 f/w (u just need to ask for the ladder to get high enough to see)
Juntau
See any Fw Datnoids?
Nick
i inguired about dats and he told me to check back tonite (goin there topnite ya wanna meet up?)

he sed 2-3in thinbars should b 15 bux (not bad at all)

last time i bought them from there i bought 8 3 died from no food and i sold 4 and kept one till 5in when he died mysteriously

this store is awesome when a fish dies no questions asked (unless u need soemthing to help with water quality(

im pming u now jauntau

Two months past and no signs of Dats.

We visited the new location this past weekend and the store is now no better than Petco. The thing that angered me the most was the extremely poor reptile husbandry. The fish section is all Petco. I noticed that one of the guys in the fish department used to work at another local store in Wethersfield for a very long time.

They had a young "Abyssinian" there for sale. The thing had snot dripping out of it's nose and looked miserable. The puppies were all from the Midwest (hmmmm, puppy mills anyone?) and not from any local breeders.

The store was a mid-quality pet store at it's old location. Now, it's just a Petco with a different name.
Juntau
Yeah, the only difference is that have oddballs once in a while. Other than that, not too familar with unusual selections just the bread and butter
Nick
its gone down the toilet lately

they layed off all the signor staff in the fish department besides chris

thats what the manager told me but i wouldnt question half of the good guys there quiting

there mostly saltwater orientated now oddball wise

ive been going to emmons lately and enjoy it alot more

il be trying out puppy center possibly this weekend.... still on the lookout for hystrix rays

anyone know where i could purchase one and how much?
