Hi everyone,

My Juwel Rio 300 has bowed yet again,i have had it for around five years now and repaired the original problem around 2 years ago. The cheap flimsy support brace gave way ( i believe due to my fault putting additional weight on top of the tank originally ) so i bought an additional two and re siliconed all three. I have had no problem but yesterday two of them gave way and the tank has bowed again at the front.

I have dropped the water level now and plan to buy a new tank.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Considering whether to buy a brand new one ( the new model ) but is it worth this possibly happening again? 300 litres on the first floor of my house could lead to disaster eeek!!!

If not can anyone recommend a new tank manufacturer/model in UK?

Thanks

Darren

Why dont you just silicone a strengthener in the top to stop the bowing, lot cheaper than a new tank.

As is stated in the original post I have already done this once, the tank came with one brace i then refitted this and an additional two and it has gone on two of them.

Yeah but I think wayne ment this time a glass one. I have a rio 400 and have glued the original braces in with silicon and have not had a problem yet, the tank is 2 year in my possession. But when I have this tank empty I will brace with glass for sure.
